Pokémon booth at Comic-Con International to feature interactive Pokémon Horizons experience — Other booths offer exclusive merch and TCG tournaments

A press release from The Pokémon Company International earlier today has announced a collection of Pokémon activities, displays, and distributions that will be taking place at the upcoming Comic-Con International 2024, which is being held later this month from July 25th-28th, with a special preview night being held on July 24th. These include an interactive booth where attendees can learn more about Pokémon Horizons: The Series, and a special early distribution of Roy's Fuecoco for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. A variety of other Pokémon-related activities and attractions, including TCG tournaments, will also be running during this event.

For this year's Comic-Con International, Pokémon's booth (#235) has been turned into an interactive walkthrough, where fans will play the role of Trainers setting off on their own Pokémon adventure together with the Rising Volt Tacklers, learning about the world and characters of Pokémon Horizons: The Series, and getting the chance to participate in giveaways for series merchandise. Visitors to the booth will also be able to purchase a variety of Pokémon Center products.

Fans visiting the booth will also be able to view live demonstrations of various features of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. While according to the press release these demonstrations of catching, training and battling Pokémon are being done by "Pokémon video game experts", it's not clear from the information provided if these will be simple demonstrations of basic functionality, or more in-depth demonstrations of things like shiny hunting, or training Pokémon to take on 7-star Tera Raids. In addition to these demonstrations, all visitors to Pokémon's Comic-Con International booth will also be able to pick up a code card containing a Mystery Gift password to receive Roy's Fuecoco in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet. Distribution of these code cards will begin on Preview Night on July 24th, and will remain available through the convention while supplies last. Roy's Fuecoco will be distributed internationally for all fans starting July 26th.

Comic-Con International exclusive Pokémon merchandise will be available from several different exhibitors. Jazwares (booth #3513) will be carrying an exclusive Kanto Region Team Figure Set featuring premium figures of popular Pokémon, as well as offering a special photo opportunity with a certain "fiery Pokémon". Insight Editions (booth #2129) meanwhile will have a special discounted Pokémon Book Bundle available for purchase, containing both the My Pokémon Cookbook Gift Set and Amazing Pokémon Paper Crafts, and Hallmark (booth #3348) will be stocking their Pokémon Premier Ball Ornament. All of these exclusive items will only be available while supplies last, so fans will need to get in quick if they want to ensure they're able to pick them up. Hallmark's Pokémon Premier Ball Ornament will also be available at the New York Comic Con later this year.

A range of further exhibitors will also be carrying Pokémon merchandise, with Funko (booth #5341) offering the oversized Pop! Jumbo Arceus, Loungefly (booth #5145) carrying their new Pokémon COLLECTIV line of accessories, a full range of Pokémon plastic model kits being available from the Bandai Spirits booth (#3837), and Gallery Games (Booth #1035) carrying a full range of Pokémon TCG products as well as other assorted merchandise.

Gallery Games will also be running a variety of activities connected to the Pokémon Trading Card Game in Room 17A (Mezzanine), at the following times (all in Pacific Daylight Time):
Apart from the Twilight Masquerade event on Saturday, all of the above Pokémon Trading Card Game events at Comic-Con International are free, and prizes will be awarded for the top players in each event. Registration for each of these events closes 30 minutes prior to listed start times. Players who do not have a deck will be able to borrow one from the Gallery Games Booth. Participation in the Twilight Masquerade event costs $35 USD, and requires registration before the event. All participants in this event will receive a Twilight Masquerade Build & Battle Box.
