Excellent artwork by Quassy
The Bulbapedia encyclopedia is always growing here at Bulbagarden! All sorts of edits and contributions sprout up every single day thanks to Pokémon enthusiasts from all around the world! Let's take a closer look at our editors' best contributions that have taken root during February 2025.

20 Years in the Making
Main article: Bulbapedia:20th Anniversary

On February 14, Bulbapedia celebrated its 20th anniversary! What an accomplishment! With over 56,000 pages, 265,000 images, and over 4 million edits, those of us who have volunteered countless hours and endless effort over the years couldn't be prouder. If you missed the festivities, allow me to walk you through the many ways our users could celebrate alongside us.
  • Tara Sands, the original voice of Bulbasaur in Pokémon the Series, left a humorous birthday message for Bulbapedia as Bulbasaur, shared on Bulbapedia's social media.
  • On February 13, Johto Times published their interview with Archaic, the webmaster of Bulbagarden. The interview took a deep dive into the history of Bulbagarden, Bulbapedia, and the overall online Pokémon community, including Archaic's involvement and experience in the fandom, as well as exploring the relationship between Pokémon and its consumers.
  • As part of the anniversary celebrations, PokeDoku partnered with Bulbagarden to create a Bulbasaur-themed Master Puzzle and add connectivity with Bulbapedia, allowing puzzle solvers to quickly click over to a Bulbapedia article explaining info relating to the various puzzle categories.
  • In the lead up to the 20th anniversary, Poké Earth Collabs announced a mini collab with Bulbapedia in celebration. Community artists could submit a drawing of Bulbasaur in their own style, which Poké Earth Collabs would ultimately arrange into a collage. Over 270 artists contributed their art, resulting in Poké Earth Collabs' biggest mini collab to date. In the center of the collage was Bulbapedia's 20th Anniversary icon, a variation of the classic Bulbapedia bulb with a "20" in the middle. Several contributions from the community also cleverly incorporated the number into the art.
  • And finally, Bulbagarden commissioned several community artists for pieces involving Bulbasaur in a variety of situations familiar to longtime fans of the series. You can see the wonderfully Bulbapedia themed artwork by Quassy to the right.
We'd like to extend a warm and genuine thanks to all our users, contributors and staff who've supported this huge project over two decades. We really couldn’t have done it without you. Here's to the next 20 years, and the next 1,000 Pokémon!

Don’t worry, our volunteers at Bulbapedia will be right there to bring together all the Core details and smaller Cells of info there is to know about the next Legends title as we strive for the wiki to achieve its Complete Forme!

Bulbasaur's Bulletin Board
Main article: Iono's role; Nickname colors

Every month we recognize the motivated individuals who contribute to our community Bulletin Board. This month, we have two contributors to shout out for their excellent achievements completing some much needed tasks from all across the encyclopedia!

First we have Dougbro1! In our ambition to expand character pages, we've added Role sections to various mainstay characters from the core series games that we know and love. It was Dougbro1 who added the missing entry to Iono's page. Thank you so much!

Our next shout out is MisterE13! Did you know? In Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Stadium 2, as well as the Japanese Pokémon Stadium, nicknaming a Pokémon causes it to be recolored. This feature has not been included in any later games. Possibly to emphasize this color change effect, most Non-player character Trainers' Pokémon have nicknames in this series. Thank you MisterE13 for detailing this information on the nickname page!

The Bulbapedia Bulletin Board is a mission board of curated tasks to help editors get involved in new ways. Those who complete one of these tasks guarantee themselves a spot in the next issue of What's Growing On!
Let's gather nice-to-meet-yous.
