New Poke Lids and playgrounds featuring Ambassador Pokémon Oshawott to be installed in Mie Prefecture in Japan
Pokémon Local Acts has announced that there will be seven new Poké Lids featuring Oshawott installed in Mie Prefecture in the coming weeks. With the addition of these seven, all of the twenty-nine cities and towns in the prefecture will have their own Poké Lid.
Poké Lids are donations from The Pokémon Company to prefectures, and along with events and merchandise hosted by Pokémon Local Acts, are intended to encourage tourism to various areas of Japan. Oshawott was appointed as Mie Prefecture’s Ambassador Pokémon in 2021 in part because its Japanese name, Mijumaru matches one of the ways to read Mie Prefecture’s name, Mijuu. The Mie Prefecture is also known for its shellfish, represented by the scalchop Oshawott keeps on its belly. Find the locations and install dates of the individual Poké Lids below.

Mie Prefecture announced today an entire playground designed after Oshawott, which will open in two locations; in Daisei Forest Park in Suzuka City, and in Sadahama New Port Green Space in Toba City. Both parks are scheduled to open in July of 2025 and will feature six pieces of play equipment including a large Oshawott net structure and a Seel spring rider.
