As Bulbagarden's community-driven encyclopedia, Bulbapedia is always growing thanks to the hard work and dedication of Pokémon fans across the world. Each day new edits and contributions sprout up as contributors bring their expertise and passion to the project. Let's take a moment to highlight some of the standout contributions that blossomed in April 2025.

57,000 Articles… and Counting!!
As this newsletter highlights each month, the wiki is always growing here at Bulbagarden. And with that, we’ve reached yet another milestone with the Pokémon Frienda pick, Aggron (1-2-052), created by niche ninja nuva-kal. We couldn’t have got to this point without our contributors or the support of the community. Thanks everyone, and here’s to the next thousand!

Fooled Ya!
As we reflect on April, we’d be remiss if not to look back on the various April Fools’ Day jokes, pranks, and fun events that happened at the beginning of the month.

Here at Bulbagarden, users may have found that we had become Zygarden, with Bulbapedia becoming Zygarpedia. Were you fooled by our attempts to bring Order to the community? No worries! We could never replace our precious Bulbasaur as our mascot.

Meanwhile, Pikipedia took a page from our book and decided to become Pikapedia, an encyclopedia dedicated to Pokémon, with Pikachu as its mascot. Cheeky!

In the world of Pokémon, we had Poké Ball-themed Pokémon appearing as items in the overworld in Pokémon GO. And we got a one-day-only sleepy-themed update featuring Jigglypuff and Slumbering Snorlax in Pokémon Masterzzz... EX, which you can read about thanks to Storm Aurora!

Additionally, those searching up their favorite Gen I Pokémon via Google Search may have been surprised to find an opportunity to catch the original 151 by searching their names! Have you caught 'em all? Check out the full article about this new feature, by Pichugetic!

What was your favorite April Fool? What surprised you the most? Thanks to the Bulbapedia team for compiling the full details for this years’ events!

In the Zone
Main articles: Wild zone, Battle zone (Lumiose City)

As we learn more about the gameplay of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, our contributors have been hard at work documenting everything that's been revealed. But watch out, as there are two sides to this coin:

During the day, players can traverse and catch a variety of Pokémon in wild zones, designated areas in Lumiose City for wild Pokémon to live and thrive. With Quasartico’s cutting-edge technology, numbered gates with a distinctive green glow signal the entrance to a particular zone. We’ve already uncovered details on five different wild zones and some of the species you can find within, so start planning your teambuilding now! How about starting with Wild Zone 1?

However, be wary Trainers. When night falls, the dynamic changes as the city lights up in red. Trainers competing in the Z-A Royale will roam the streets in designated battle zones, and unlike in Paldea and Kitakami, these Trainers won’t politely wait for you to ask. No, if you’re spotted, be prepared for a fierce battle, and you may even start at a disadvantage! Instead, try to be the one to sneak up and strike first to start with the upper hand yourself. Can you rise up and reach Rank A? Read up now to get a head start on the competition!

A Slice of Life, POKÉTOON Style!
Main articles: PT09, PT10, PT11, PT12, P13, PT14

If you missed the slice of life POKÉTOON shorts released near the end of last year, fear not, because our editors have been working on bringing you complete coverage of this series. Last month, we appreciated a lot of editors for completing plot summaries of each episode, and we now have SuperPikaPool13 to thank for completing the remaining summaries from Pamo, Pamot, Parmot! to Playing Tag on a Lucky Safari!?!

There's still some POKÉTOON characters that need their own pages or need expanded coverage, so if you feel up to the task, feel free to edit your favorite character's page for a chance to be featured in our upcoming newsletters. In the meantime, take a small break and check out the Japanese short Playing Tag on a Lucky Safari!? below:
