Since we last spoke, there have been many things to celebrate in the world of Pokémon and beyond! Like us, I'm confident you are excited about all the newly revealed information from the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. In the world of Pokémon, not only do we have Legends: Z-A for the video game fans, we have Destined Rivals and Celestial Guardians for the TCG players, Alolan Sitting Cuties for the collectors, Pokémon GO Fest 2025 for the outdoor enthusiasts; what a time to be a Poké Fan!
Us here at Bulbapedia have a number of things to celebrate closer to home. In addition to reaching 57,000 articles (please give the recent issue of What's Growing On a read for more details), in April we commemorated 20 years on the Bulbagarden Archives! For those who don't know, the Bulbagarden Archives is our image depository, hosting over 260,000 Pokémon related images to help illustrate the articles here on Bulbapedia, as well as news stories on Bulbanews. Over the past few months, our editors have created hundreds of new categories via thousands of edits to help make viewing these innumerable images that much easier. To make navigating these categories smoother, we've also installed the CategoryTree Extension on both Bulbapedia and the Bulbagarden Archives. Big thank you to Thespeon196, Rustle, Cipher, AnnieCat07, and all the other Bulbagarden Archivists! Your contributions cannot be understated.
In Bulbapedia's content coverage news, all mentions of Pokémon animation in prose, notes, and all the written content have been updated to modern standards! Great work! Our next spotlight term is Evolution, ensuring all mentions of the word throughout the wiki has proper capitalization and correct context. We will also be focusing on clearing out the various Draft articles that editors are preparing. Many of these articles are works in progress, so if you are in the market for a way to contribute to our expansive resource, please take a peek at those.
Closing off, there is one more update left to announce. Our Bulbapedia Senior Leadership team is evolving. Introducing Landfish7 as co-Deputy Editor-in-Chief! Landfish7 has been an immense help covering the various Editor-in-Chief level duties that ensure the smooth operation of the encyclopedia, and I couldn't be more excited to have them join myself and SnorlaxMonster on the team.
