This first partner Pokémon will be entirely battle-ready with the moves Protect, Parting Shot, Fake Out, and Flare Blitz. It also shares the exact same stats, including Individual Values and Effort Values, as Wolfe Glick's own Incineroar. It's holding the Safety Goggles item, has the option of a Bug-type terastallization, and has its hidden ability Intimidate. Additionally, it will likely carry two rare ribbons. The Battle Champion Ribbon is an event-exclusive ribbon that gives Incineroar the title of "the Battle Champion", and its secondary Partner Ribbon allows you to proudly announce this Pokémon's Original Trainer, with a special message reading "Go! Wolfe's Incineroar!" when sent out into battle.
This is likely a nod to a common joke within the VGC community relating to Wolfe Glick's dislike of Incineroar — or more specifically, dislike of how dominant it can be over a single format. For example, during the 2022 Pokémon World Championships, it appeared on 23 out of 26 teams in Top Cut. While its control over the format has eased slightly since then, it's still one of the most common Pokémon in VGC, appearing on 40.9% of teams in Day 2 of the 2025 Seville Special Championships, and 33.6% in Day 2 of the more recent 2025 Milwaukee Regionals.
Play! Pokémon have made numerous jokes relating to Wolfe's views on Incineroar, leading to confused reactions by the trainer himself.
The possibility of this joke perfectly lining up was first mentioned just over a year ago by Joe Merrick on X (Twitter) after the Partner Ribbon was added to Scarlet and Violet following the release of The Indigo Disk. They suggested that "VGC player distributions [can] have this ribbon so you can have it be like 'Go! Wolfe's Incineroar!'" Wolfe Glick later responded to this by comedically feigning outrage, replying "Wolfe's WHAT?????"
