New Heroes Are Born Costume Event returns to Pokémon Masters EX, plus Super Spotlight Costume Scout featuring Barry, Brycen-Man, Selene, and Bellelba

Pokémon Masters EX sees the return today of 2024's New Heroes Are Born Costume Event, together with a set of new Costume Scouts featuring all four Costume Sync Pairs who feature in the event, and its sequel Infamous Pokéstar Villains.

Story Event: New Heroes Are Born
This event, which is running through to June 23rd, at 10:59pm (PDT), sees Barry and Selene getting roped in to some costumed heroics at a battle event being held by The Masked Royal and Crasher Wake. This event originally ran from April 12th to May 17th, 2024. This is the first time the event has been re-run.

By completing battles during this event, players can earn Event Voucher D items, which can be exchanged for a variety of valuable items including 5★ Scout Tickets and Power-Ups, Special Skill Feather 27 and 28, Skill Items, Sync Orbs for Barry (Special Costume) and Selene (Special Costume), Lucky Cookies for Barry (Special Costume), Selene (Special Costume), and The Masked Royal & Incineroar, and a Strike Move Candy Coin. Players can also obtain Gems and Event Medals for completing special missions during the event. Players will be able to obtain all of these rewards even if they have previously completed the event during its original run.

As usual for events of this type, players will have an increased chance of receiving bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates are as follows:
These bonuses stack additively, so having a team consisting of Barry (Special Costume) & Heracross, Selene (Special Costume) & Scizor, The Masked Royal & Incineroar and would grant a combined +160% (×2.6) rewards.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:
  • The number of plays available for Daily Extreme Battle 1 are reset every day at 11:00pm (PDT)
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
  • All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
  • Leftover Event Voucher D items will be automatically converted to coins at a rate of 10 coins per item at the end of the event, and sent to players' Present Boxes.
Costume Scouts
This latest Super Spotlight Costume Scout, Costume Tiered Scout, and Costume Featured Ticket Scout offer players an opportunity to scout the featured sync pairs from the New Heroes Are Born and Infamous Pokéstar Villains events.
More information about each of these sync pairs can be found via the Bulbapedia links above. Each of these Costume Sync Pairs only appear during Costume Sync Pair Scouts.

The Super Spotlight Costume Scout includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used up to 3 times per day during the entire length of the scout. 5★ have a 7% chance of appearing in this scout.

The Costume Tiered Scout has five tiers, each of which is a Sync Pair Scout ×11. Players are able to scout once on each tier by using Paid Gems, with the amount of gems increasing with each tier. Additionally, Tiers 2 through 5 grant the player additional in-game rewards.
  • Tier 1: 1,000 Paid Gems
  • Tier 2: 1,500 Paid Gems - 5★ Power-Ups ×3
  • Tier 3: 2,000 Paid Gems - 5★ Great Scout Ticket O, which can be used in the Costume Featured Ticket Scout.
  • Tier 4: 2,500 Paid Gems - 5★ Power-Ups ×7
  • Tier 5: 3,000 Paid Gems - Player's choice of 5★ Sync Pairs from those included in the scout
The Great Scout Ticket O can be used in the Costume Featured Ticket Scout to randomly team up with either 5★ Barry (Special Costume) & Heracross, 5★ Brycen-Man & Zoroark, 5★ Selene (Special Costume) & Scizor, or 5★ Bellelba & Swoobat. All tickets must be used prior to this scout ending.

The Super Spotlight Costume Scout and Costume Tiered Scout will both run until June 23rd, at 10:59pm (PDT). The associated Costume Featured Ticket Scout meanwhile runs through to June 30th, at 10:59pm (PDT).
