Latios, Latias, and Pikachu feature throughout the new store’s design and merchandise. At the front of the shop, a mural of the three also functions as an air curtain, blowing a breeze over visitors as they enter. Dondozo, Tatsugiri, and Pikachu dressed as a ramen shop owner will also feature in the store’s decor, and seasonal events will take place in the event space in the middle of the store. Like some of the other recently designed Pokémon Center locations, Fukuoka will feature a section of the store dedicated to the Pokémon Trading Card Game, offering a place for visitors to sit and play.
The commemorative merch will be available upon the store’s opening on the 27th, and most pieces are also scheduled to be available at the Pokémon Center Online. Latios, Latias, and Pikachu with traditional accessories will feature as a plush for ¥5,940 ($40.97 USD), as will ramen shop owner Pikachu and Pikachu with a Niwaka mask for ¥2,750 ($18.97 USD) each. Pikachu hair clips (¥440 ($3.03 USD) each), Latios and Latias keychains (¥1,980 ($13.66 USD) each), and a Pokémon Center Fukuoka logo pin (¥770 ($5.31 USD)) will also be available. Lots of merchandise featuring the store’s new art will also debut, including stationery, hand towels, and a t-shirt.
For the special collaboration merchandise, Pokémon Center Fukuoka has first teamed up with Ippudo, a ramen shop chain that was founded in Fukuoka. The collab shows off a variety of ramen bowls for between ¥3,300 and ¥6,930 ($22.76 and $47.79 USD), a set of chopsticks and a ramen spoon for ¥1,540 ($10.62 USD) each, and a 2-pack of ramen with special flavors for ¥972 ($6.70 USD), all themed with the store’s new art.
The next collab highlights hakata-ori, a traditional craft which originated in Fukuoka, in partnership with Sanui Textiles. The customary fabric makes use of the allover Eon duo print, featuring a Pikachu pouch with a wooden zipper pull for ¥6,050 ($41.72 USD), a set of two coasters for ¥1,870 ($12.90 USD), a drawstring bag for ¥3,630 ($25.03 USD), and a tumbler mug for ¥3,850 ($26.55 USD).
The final local collab for Pokémon Center Fukuoka is with Yamaguchi Aburaya Fukutaro, who manufacture menbei, a type of roe-flavored rice cracker. They will be offering a souvenir box of the crackers, decorated with Latios, Latias, and ramen shop owner Pikachu for ¥777 ($5.36 USD).
The hakata-ori collection, menbei box, and Fukuoka logo pin will be available only in-store at the Pokémon Center Fukuoka, while all other pieces mentioned here will also be available at the Pokémon Center Online on June 27th. No part of this collection will be available via Amazon Japan.
A special pre-viewing of the new store will take place on June 26th, though the 200 visitors for this date have already been selected. Shoppers who spend at least ¥6000 ($41.38 USD) between June 26th and July 18th will receive a souvenir tote with the store’s art.
