Catch Quaxly in Pokémon GO with the July Community Day event on Sunday July 20th

Quaxly, the Duckling Pokémon, is the featured Pokémon for Pokémon GO's July 2025 Community Day, which will be held on Sunday, July 20th, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time. During this event, Quaxly will be appearing more frequently in the wild, together with their Shiny variant.

From the beginning of the event until July 27th, at 10:00pm local time, Quaxwell that are evolved into Quaquaval will learn the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. This attack has 80 power in Trainer Battles, and 90 power in Gyms, and raids.

Starting with the event and continuing afterwards, Quaquaval will be able to learn the Charged Attack Aqua Step. This attack has 55 power and increases Attack by one stage in Trainer Battles, and 55 power in Gyms and raids.

Event Bonuses and Activities
The following event bonuses will be active throughout the event:

3× Catch Stardust.

2× Candy for catching Pokémon.

2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.

Lure Modules and Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours

Trainers can receive an in-game surprise by taking a few snapshots during Community Day

The following additional event bonuses will be active from 2:00pm to 10:00pm local time:

One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day

50% less Stardust will be required for trades

Paid Special Research
A Community Day-exclusive Special Research will be available for purchase for US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency). Trainers who complete this research will earn additional encounters with Quaxly—including three encounters with Quaxly that have Delightful Days-themed Special Backgrounds—a Premium Battle Pass, and a Rare Candy XL. This Special Research can also be gifted to any friend with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.

Free Field and Timed Research
Free Community Day-themed Field Research will be available. Amongst other rewards, Trainers completing this research will be able to earn additional encounters with Quaxly, as well as Stardust, and Great Balls.

Additionally, Trainers that log in during the July 2025 Community Day will receive Timed Research, which upon completion, will award an encounter with a Quaxly that has a Delightful Days-themed Special Background. These Pokémon will also have an increased chance to be Shiny. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed, and their rewards must be claimed, before July 27th, at 10:00pm local time.

Ultra Community Day Box
An Ultra Community Day Box will be available on the Pokémon GO Web Store for US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency) starting July 14th at 10:00am (PDT). This Box includes five Ultra Balls, and one Special Research ticket.
