Pokémon Sleep celebrates run-up to 2nd Anniversary with a special Prelude Event — Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip to debut July 14th
Pokémon Sleep will celebrate its 2nd anniversary on Sunday July 20th. Ahead of this milestone, the game will be holding a special Second Anniversary Prelude Event from Monday July 7th, which will then be followed by the Second Anniversary Fest beginning Monday July 14th.
Second Anniversary Prelude Event
The Second Anniversary Prelude Event will allow Researchers to participate and gain bonuses regardless of where they conduct their sleep research, with the following bonuses active throughout the event period:
- Researchers will receive ×1.5 Dream Shards from all sleep research conducted during the event
- Sleep Researchers cooking pots will be 50% larger (i.e. ×1.5 their normal size)
- This bonus is multiplicative, so cooking pots will be 200% larger on Sunday (i.e. a ×1.5 bonus on top of the regular ×2 bonus, for a total bonus of ×3 bonus)
- Researchers can encounter a few Pokémon of different sleep types regardless of their own sleep type for the day.
Players will also receive up to 7 gifts of 150 bonus Sleep Point each. Though not specified in the update, it is presumed that these will function similar to those from the lead up to the 1st Anniversary, with each gift being distributed separately, at a specified time each day. If so, then players who miss a day for whatever reason should be able to catch up with all bonuses released to that point the very next time they log into the game, and the gifts should remain available to claim until well after the event is complete.
Additionally, the following Pokémon, who all made their Pokémon Sleep debuts alongside the First Anniversary Fest, will appear with a Greater Appearance Rate during sleep research throughout the event:
- Greengrass Isle
- Sprigatito, Floragato, Meowscarada, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.
- Cyan Beach
- Fuecoco, Crocalor, Skeledirge, Quaxly, Quaxwell, and Quaquaval.
- Tapue Hollow
- Fuecoco, Crocalor, and Skeledirge.
- Lapis Lakeside
- Sprigatito, Floragato, Meowscarada, Quaxly, Quaxwell, and Quaquaval.
- Old Gold Power Plant
- Sprigatito, Floragato, Meowscarada, Fuecoco, Crocalor, Skeledirge, Quaxly, Quaxwell, and Quaquaval.
Researchers should also note the following for this event:
- The daily rollover for the Second Anniversary Prelude Event is at 4:00am local time.
- Event bonuses for this event apply regardless of which site players conduct their sleep research in.
- Event bonuses apply only for sleep tracking that begins within the event period, and do not apply to sleep tracking during the tutorial, or to sleep data tracked before the event, even if the researcher waits to review their sleep research after the event has started.
- Sleep data tracked during the event will receive event bonuses, regardless of if the researcher waits to review their sleep research until after the event has concluded.
Second Anniversary Fest
As the name suggests, the Second Anniversary Fest will commence on July 14th to commemorate Pokémon Sleep's second anniversary. Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip (and presumably their evolutions as well) will all make their debuts during this event from 3:00pm local time on Monday July 14th. As usual, players who are in the middle of Sleep Research at the time these Pokémon debut should have a chance of seeing them when they complete their sleep.
As of writing, no further details about this event have been released.
