On the Origin of Species: Sobble, Drizzile, and Inteleon

The 2025 Santiago Regional Championships were won by Max Morales, making use of the pairing of Miraidon and Calyrex's Ice Rider form. This event was the first in the Latin America region to use the Regulation Set I ruleset, allowing the use of Paradox Pokemon, Legendary Pokemon, along with a choice of two Restricted Special Pokemon per team.

The Superpower Pokémon Machop will be the featured Pokémon for Pokémon GO's next Community Day Classic event, this Saturday May 24th. During the event, which will run from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time, Machop and its Shiny variant will be appearing more frequently in the wild.

Grimsley is debuting his new Sync Pair with Absol today in Pokémon Masters EX debut in a set of Variety Scouts. The pair feature as an opponent in a brand new Special Co-op Event also launching today, Mega Evolve—Luck of the Draw. Additionally, a large quantity of Sync Pairs with the ability to Mega Evolve are receiving additional Sync Grid tiles together with this new event.

Urshifu makes its Pokémon GO debut in the Final Strike: GO Battle Week, ending the Might and Mastery season. The Final Strike event runs this week from Wednesday, May 21st, at 10:00am to Tuesday, May 27th, at 8:00pm local time.

The next set of special Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will be focusing on the Mach Pokémon Garchomp, which will be making its first appearance in 7-star Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles between May 23rd at midnight (UTC) / 22nd at 5:00pm (PDT), and May 25th at 11:59pm (UTC) / 4:59pm (PDT). This will be followed by a second appearance one week later from May 30th at midnight (UTC) / 29th at 5:00pm (PDT), to June 1st at 11:59pm (UTC) / 4:59pm (PDT). Blissey will also be appearing more frequently in 5-star Tera Raid Battles during the second weekend of this event.

The 2025 Thailand Master Ball League was won by 2025 Thailand Premier Ball League Champion Anousak Jung. Their team is led by the Restricted Pokemon Koraidon and Calyrex’s Ghost-type Shadow Rider form, with slightly niche picks such as Dondozo, Tatsugiri, and Galarian Weezing in the back.

The 2025 Utrecht Regional Championships were won by 2024 Worlds Semi-finalist and 2023 Worlds Finalist Michael Kelsch, using a team headed by Miraidon and a more defensive build for Calyrex's Ice Rider form.

The 2025 Melbourne Regional Championships were won by Masayoshi Kuroo, cleverly using a unique combination of Koraidon and Calyrex Shadow Rider.

RPG Limit Break 2025 is scheduled to begin tomorrow, May 18th, running through until May 24th for close to a week of nonstop RPG speedruns. Two Pokemon speedruns are scheduled to be a part of the marathon: Pokémon Crystal, and a co-op diploma run of Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu/Eevee. The event will be held live out of Denver, Colorado (with some runs performed remotely) and will be raising money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). The event will be available to watch on both Twitch and YouTube. Individual runs will be available on-demand from the latter at a later point.

The release date for Alcremie, the next Pokémon to join the fray in Pokémon UNITE has been announced — It will be available to play from June 12th. Alcremie is a Supporter. At the time of writing, no further details have on Alcremie have been officially announced.

Drop Events are back in Pokémon TCG Pocket with the launch of the Alolan Ninetales Drop Event. In this event, which runs from May 15th at 11:00pm through to May 25th at 10:59pm (PDT), players will be able to challenge a series of special solo battles to attempt to obtain promo card packs and other rewards.

Regigigas is being featured in a Shadow Raid Day in Pokémon GO this Saturday, May 17th, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time.

Pokémon UNITE updated to Version 1.18.2.7 at 7:00am (UTC) on May 15th. These updates, dubbed "Breath of Evolution [Part 2]" (Japanese: 「進化の息吹 Part2」), bring balance adjustments for a variety of Pokémon and Items, alongside bug fixes and Shop and Event updates.

Bede is debuting his new Sygna Suit Sync Pair with Iron Valient today in Pokémon Masters EX debut in a new Poké Fair Scout. The pair also star in a brand new Story Event launching today, Blades of the Future. Both the scout and Story Event will run through to June 1st, at 10:59pm (PDT).

TheSpeedGamers, a group of video game enthusiasts who play for marathon hours to raise money for charities, have announced their latest Pokémon-centric marathon, titled Through the Generations. Commencing July 11th at 7:00pm (TST) and continuing through to July 18th, the event will be once again raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. As usual, the marathon will be streamed live on TheSpeedGamers Twitch Channel.

During this year's North America International Championships, running from the 13th-15th of June, a special password will be shared allowing players to receive the Incineroar that helped 2016 World Champion Wolfe Glick win the 2025 Europe International Championships.

Pokémon Sleep will enter a maintenance period this week for an update of the software to Version 2.8.0. This update is expected to run for roughly four and a half hours, commencing Thursday May 15th at 4:30am (UTC), and continuing through until 9:00am (UTC). In addition to preparing the game for the upcoming Pokémon Growth Week Vol. 5 (commencing next week on May 19th) and New Moon Day events, the update also introduces some minor quality of life changes to game contents.

The 2025 Grand Challenge IV was won by 2025 Gdansk Regional and 2025 Grand Challenge III Champion Federico Camporesi. Their previous accomplishments are unsurprisingly numerous, with a Top 4 placement in the 2023 World Championships, and two Top 32 placements in the 2024 North America and 2025 Latin America Internationals.

Pokémon Masters EX's latest High Score Event, Grass and Bug Conqueror, is launching today alongside 5★-Select Type and Type Exclusive - Triple Feature Poké Fair Scouts featuring Sync Pairs useful for challenging the event. Both the event and Scouts will run through to May 20th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

This month's Wonder Pick Event in Pokémon TCG Pocket brings new Cosmog and Lycanroc promo cards to the game's Wonder Pick feature, along with a selection of limited time event items to the in-game shop, including a pair of backgrounds, and a binder cover. This event will run through to May 18th, at 10:59pm (PDT).
